Welcome to the Nursery Room
Introduction:
Stoney Creek Childcare half-day Nursery School program is ideal for parents who only need part time care for children 2.5 years to 5 years of age. Our Nursery School program offers the same wonderful educational components as our regular programs.
Morning program times: 9:00 AM to 12.00 PM
Afternoon program times: 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM
(Please note: Afternoon program only available when morning program is full.)
Our Nursery School program is a theme based program that provides a full curriculum and plenty of learning opportunities for your child. Each Discovery Area provides new experiences for your child. The Nursery School is taught by qualified Early Childhood Educators who will provide many social and interactive activities for your child to experience. A nutritional snack will be provided daily.
The program focuses on developing a variety of cognitive and fine motor skills necessary to progress through the coming years. Each child will receive their own educational binder. The Key components covered within the program include:
1. Pre-writing skills (pencil control and tracing)
2. Letters (taught in Jolly Phonics order)
3. Numbers (counting, matching sets)
4. Pre-School concepts (colours, shapes, cutting, matching, opposites)
About the Teachers
It is recommended when your child is enrolled in the daycare, to visit the room they will be joining. This will provide an opportunity for the teacher(s) to introduce themselves and for the child to become aware of his/her new environment.
